In Season 2 Episode 5, in "Grandma Ruffman's Confession". was her first of many run-ins with the authorities throughout the show, as in the episode she claimed to "fall asleep at the wheel" and hit 27 people and "accidentally" landed on her glock and shot wildly at a local deli.

In Season 3 Episode 17, "The People vs. Grandma Ruffman", she was accused for helping Scruff escape from prison and ended up in jail. However, she was declared innocent, falsely.

After the finale of Season 3, she became more involved in Ruff's business and disapproved of Ruff's current job. She then turned Studio G into Studio Grandma's Groovy Disco Den.

In the Season 4 episode "Season Four is Canceled", after hearing that Ruff had been fired from his job of hosting FETCH!, she persuaded him into looking for a real job, to which Ruff replied that hosting his show was a "real job", as well as informing Ruff that his brother Scruff had been selling all of Ruff's belongings online, in which she was able to purchase the FETCH 3000 back from Scruff, letting Ruff also know that his nemesis Spot Spotnik had bought his pants.

She makes two cameos in Season 5 Episode 17, "Go Belugas Go!", where Ruff comments on how Estelle, a beluga whale, looks like his grandmother's bridge (a card game) partners, to which she acknowledges his statement and comments on how Estelle's skin is like porcelain. Her second cameo is when she says that Marc won the OY VAE (Official Young Veterinarians Acceptance Exam) and that his grandmother must be proud of him, unlike some other grandmothers she knows. She then asks Ruff about his swimsuit and (while crying) asks him why he wants to know why he is still single.

She makes an appearance in the penultimate episode, "Long Glen Silver and the Pursuit of the Golden Fetchie!", where she calls him at the end of the show and warns him that the Golden Fetchie statue is a brainwashing device that PURRS would use during the Go Get It! season finale, meaning that everyone who watches Go Get It! would be brainwashed into thinking that they are cats. She later tells Ruff that she used to work as a spy when she was younger.

Her last appearance was in the show's final episode, where she told Ruff that his parents were spies all along.
